Update on future Rasmussen College graduation and pinning ceremonies.
On April 20, 2020, Rasmussen College promised you that a decision would be made by mid-May regarding graduation and pinning ceremonies currently scheduled for July, August and September. We recognize the advanced planning that upcoming graduates need to order and send invitations, schedule travel for family members, and order graduation regalia, and wanted to ensure our graduates have as much time as possible to plan.
Over the past month and a half, Rasmussen College has monitored the state of the pandemic and the orders and recommendations being issued by government entities. Even though moves have been made by government leaders in recent weeks to re-open some states, we know that Rasmussen’s graduation and pinning ceremonies are large gatherings that would still present significant risks related to the spread of COVID-19, even when using appropriate social distancing and hygiene protocols.
Therefore, it is with much emotion that we are now announcing that a decision has been made to extend the cancellation of all graduation and pinning ceremonies through September 30, 2020.
Please know that this decision was not made lightly and continues to be one of the most difficult decisions we have had to make. We understand the disappointment that may come from this announcement, but the College believes these events, which are the culmination and celebration of our students’ hard work, should be light-hearted and joyous celebrations, not events marred by unnecessary risk.
The College will continue to post the most up-to-date information here.
We want each of you to know that we value you as a member of the Rasmussen College family, and wish each of you good health.
