Rasmussen University has long been a national leader in innovative approaches to higher learning.

Now, Rasmussen University is revolutionizing the way learners understand what they know and how they have demonstrated the skills that will help them flourish in the world and workplace.

Introducing the Comprehensive Learner Record—a competency-based transcript to help learners, graduates and alumni recognize their strengths and share them with employers as they seek a new career or promotion.

For generations, the traditional college transcript has existed as a document confirming college enrollment and course letter grades.

While this transcript is still necessary, in some ways, it does not fully communicate what the learner knows and has demonstrated.

If you earned a B+ in a writing course, what does that mean for your learning? In what ways is your writing strong? How did you excel? Which skills, if any, were missed? The traditional college transcript does not tell us—or the student's future employer—any of that important information.

Rasmussen University's Comprehensive Learner Record is built for a 21st-century career environment where skills and competencies are the new currency.

The Comprehensive Learner Record clearly illustrates how the learner has performed in the top 12 skills in their Rasmussen University program.

Six skills from the specific major and six transferable skills. Employers greatly value these transferable (or “soft” skills), such as communication and critical thinking. They are timeless—and prepare employees to handle any changes that may arise in their industry.

Based on the actual demonstration of these skills, Rasmussen University's Comprehensive Learner Record provides a rating of a student's demonstrated skills on a scale of one to four. There are no letter grades or percentages.

The Comprehensive Learner Record can be used by Rasmussen University graduates who have demonstrated all the skills in their program and would like to share them as part of their career search. It can also be shared by a student who has yet to graduate, but may be seeking a promotion.

If you are an employer, Rasmussen University's Comprehensive Learner Record gives you the information you need to make the perfect hire—and how to best develop skills once they are on the job.

If you are a student or graduate, the Comprehensive Learner Record illustrates your performance with workforce-relevant skills that employers need. It can provide a great advantage in job interviews by allowing you to name your top skills, but also provide direct evidence of your success.

While the traditional college transcript still serves a purpose, Rasmussen University's Comprehensive Learner Record is the next generation of skills communication.

It is digital skills focused, shareable and on-demand 24/7 by the learner or graduate looking to communicate their skillset.

In the 21st-century workplace, competencies are the new currency. Rasmussen University's Comprehensive Learner Record allows you to share what you have to offer to your new career and the world.
