Rasmussen College Employees and Students Give Back During Seventh Annual Community Service Day
Rasmussen College, a regionally accredited private college and Public Benefit Corporation, will give back to its local communities on Friday, July 24, during the College’s seventh annual Community Service Day. Approximately 12,000 employees and students from its 23 campuses and three central offices will volunteer during the national service day event. Through this annual effort, students and staff volunteer more than 4,000 hours in just one 24-hour period.
Rasmussen College Reduces Tuition Nationwide
Rasmussen College, a regionally accredited private college and Public Benefit Corporation, today announced a 13 percent tuition reduction nationwide that takes effect in August for new, full-time students. The tuition reduction, which applies to all non-nursing programs at Rasmussen College, aligns with an ongoing commitment to provide the best investment possible for students by helping decrease debt upon graduation. This is the second nationwide tuition reduction at Rasmussen College in just two years. In October 2013, the College lowered tuition costs an average of 12 percent nationally.
Rasmussen College Welcomes Dr. Ann Leja as New Vice President of Academic Affairs and Chief Academic Officer
Rasmussen College, a regionally accredited private college and Public Benefit Corporation, recently welcomed Dr. Ann Leja as its new Vice President of Academic Affairs and Chief Academic Officer. In these roles, Leja will oversee all academic affairs and activities at Rasmussen College, including support and assessment, programmatic quality and rigor, expansion of competency-based education and other learning models and methods, as well as faculty engagement. Leja brings with her more than 25 years of higher education experience with 15 years in academic leadership roles at both private and public colleges and universities.
Rasmussen College Launches Computer Science Bachelor’s Degree Completion Program
Rasmussen College, a regionally accredited private college and Public Benefit Corporation, today announced the launch of a Computer Science Bachelor’s degree completion program. The program is designed to offer students real-life, hands-on learning experiences in a business context, using the most current technology through access to Amazon, Apple and Microsoft platforms. Graduates will be prepared to contribute to organizational success as business analysts, solutions architects, developers, analysts and solutions engineers.
Rasmussen College Launches Three New Health Sciences Programs
Rasmussen College, a regionally accredited private college and Public Benefit Corporation, today announced the launch of three new Health Sciences programs: a Health and Wellness Bachelor’s degree-completion program, Medical Administrative Assistant Certificate and Pharmacy Technician Certificate. These programs were created to help employers solve a growing need for skilled workers ready to succeed in a health care market experiencing significant change related to federal health legislation, aging populations and a growing demand for preventive and holistic options.
Dr. Trenda Boyum-Breen Inaugurated as Rasmussen College President
Rasmussen College, a regionally accredited private college and Public Benefit Corporation, today hosted the inauguration of its seventh president, Dr. Trenda Boyum-Breen. Boyum-Breen takes the helm of the College after Kristi Waite, who served in the role for 17 years prior to her retirement March 30, 2015.
Rasmussen College Digital Literacy Survey Finds Americans Overwhelmed by Technology, Yet Can’t Live Without It
Rasmussen College, a regionally accredited private college and Public Benefit Corporation, today released the results of a survey of more than 2,000 U.S. adults and their feelings about the Internet. Highlights of the findings were published in a digital infographic, “Digital Literacy in 2015: America’s Complicated Relationship with the Internet,” that illustrates how Americans feel about technology and how it’s altered the way we communicate, consume information and work.
Rasmussen College Selected to Join the Competency-Based Education Network
Rasmussen College, a regionally accredited private college and Public Benefit Corporation, was recently selected to join the Competency-Based Education Network’s (C-BEN) new cohort of member institutions. Supported by the Lumina Foundation and managed by Public Agenda, C-BEN is comprised of 30 institutions and four public systems from across the country. The network, which focuses on addressing the challenges of designing, developing and scaling high-quality, competency-based degree programs, welcomed Rasmussen College in February 2015 along with 12 other higher education institutions and two public systems. The national group will meet with its new members for the first time during a three-day working session March 3-5 in Austin, Texas.
Rasmussen College to Host Free Community Career Fairs Nationwide
Rasmussen College, a regionally accredited private college and Public Benefit Corporation, will host more than 20 free Community Career Fairs nationwide March 3-6 to help community members, students and graduates advance their job-seeking skills and land their dream job by gaining access to career experts and employers that are hiring. Job-seekers will have the opportunity to network with potential employers, receive LinkedIn and resume consultations, participate in mock interviews, gain professional dress advice, develop a compelling elevator speech and identify career paths that fit their experience and skill set.
Rasmussen College Launches Supply Chain and Logistics Management Bachelor's Degree-Completion Program
Rasmussen College, a regionally accredited private college and Public Benefit Corporation, today launched a Supply Chain and Logistics Management Bachelor’s degree-completion program—helping to meet the need for more highly skilled supply chain professionals and a more educated workforce. The program will help students collaborate with others in a global economy by developing skills such as purchasing, transportation and warehouse management that are critical for directing the flow of goods from supplier to consumer. Students can complete the program in as few as 18 months by taking advantage of up to six self-paced, competency-based courses offered at no additional cost through the College’s Flex Choice learning option—saving students up to 27 percent on tuition. Enrollment for the Supply Chain and Logistics Management program is immediately available with classes beginning in April.
